Wololo! Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Converts to macOS on May 28th!

One of the most beloved strategy games ever comes to macOS this May, with the arrival of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Lead diverse civilizations spanning a thousand years of history. Grow a Dark Age hamlet into an Imperial Age citadel. Build a thriving economy, assemble your armies, and do battle across historical single-player campaigns, the hugely replayable skirmish mode, and with other macOS players in online multiplayer.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition comes complete with razor-sharp 4K visuals, a fully remastered soundtrack, and includes three expansions with the base game: Lords of the West, Dynasties of India, and Dawn of the Dukes. Newcomers to the series and returning veterans alike can look forward to all the fast-paced base-building and warfare that made this game a classic, given new life over two decades of refinement and additional content.

Empire builders hungry for more will also have access to a large — and still-expanding — stable of DLC purchasable from day one. Players can explore wide-ranging content, from Return of Rome, which transplants the original Age of Empires experience into the modern engine, to The Last Chieftains — exploring the complex medieval societies of South America – which just recently released!

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition lands on Steam for macOS on May 28th, with a Mac App Store release to come later in the year. Keep your eyes trained on our social feed and blog in the run-up to launch – we’ll cover everything you need to know about this real-time strategy titan.
