Good day friends, medieval historians, battle connoisseurs, and to all you lords and ladies of the Ages!

To say the least, it’s been a busy month since the release of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition! Over here at World’s Edge, we’ve been hard at work gathering your feedback, prioritizing your requests and bug reports, and helping our development partners while they work to build and test the latest improvements to the Definitive Edition.

And they’ve been busy; so busy, in fact, that next week we will be releasing one of the largest updates Age of Empires 2 has ever seen. The team has put together a holiday package with over a hundred bug fixes, gameplay improvements, and even some brand-new features to improve your experience.

Here’s a small snippet of some of the big highlights:

Our developer friends have been working to improve (quite literally) every aspect of the game, and they’re not done yet! While next week will introduce changes based on this first month of the Definitive Edition, we’re already hard at work planning out the next systems you’ve highlighted as a community!

And with that in mind, remember that you have the power to inspire change! We’re always looking for feedback, suggestions, and bug reports over on our official forums and here on Steam, where there are already thousands of players discussing the game. If there’s something you’d like to see changed or added following next week’s build, go see if someone has started a discussion about it! If they haven’t, then there’s no better time to kick off a thread than right now!

    Kinda feel that the Lithuanian relic bonus should max out at +2 for Light cavalry instead of removed altogether.

    Invisible Trees

    So my gf uses the desktop computer and I use the laptop to play.

    Today she is on a trip and borrowing my laptop, so I logged out her account on Microsoft and Xbox Live, and logged in mine. I tried to play and the trees were gone again, This happened a few weeks ago when i tried to use my account on this computer. (On a previous install of windows.) I got a new SSD so re-installed Windows 10

    When I put a lumbercamp the villager starts cutting invisible trees. If I build houses first and dont have enough wood for a lumbercamp its impossible to cut trees. Anyway I tried logging out my account logged in hers, rebooted multiple times.

    I removed the game and am re-installing. I hope it helps. :( I will post a screenshot if it happens again.

    How about buffing tarkans and mamelukes? They feel like the most useless unique units. For tarkans perhaps reduce gold cost or make them more accessible early (marauders researched in stables perhaps) so that you won't have already invested in knights and find going tarkans a back tech by the time your castle is up.

    For mamelukes their use is so very situational. Reducing the gold cost would help make them viable. They should be cheaper in gold than knights given that they are not multi-role like knights. If they were not so expensive you'd see them more in games despite being very situational.

    Sounds like what the community wants for the most part. Looking forward to these new civ balances. Civs like Turks, Khmer, and Goths need a buff IMO with how this game is currently. I hope Arena is in the map pool too because a lot of people enjoy playing that.

    Need fix also fo unranked lobby browser multiplayer game. Sometimes i cant find any loby to play, sometimes many. Also when i create loby, sometimes in 10 sec. It s full and sometimes noone. I must sign in xbox account to fix it and someother day just opposite i must sign out. Pls fix it

    I wish there was way you could set it up so if the version build don't match up because Steam and MS Store haven't synced up yet, people can still play in cross-play, albeit in some sort of limited fashion (ie, it doesn't take advantage of any of the updates seen in the new build)

    I haven't bought the game yet, but I'm looking forward to buy it, once all the issues are fixed. I'm particulary worried about ballance Issues. Besides the elephant on the room (the cumans), they're other elephants I'm worry about, or maybe the civs that get them:

    I really don't understand why did you nerf battle elephant: It's like you hate rise of rajas civs. They're among the less winners civs, and yet so you nerf them. The only one that was decent was HEAVILY nerfed (malay). It would be great if you could balance them properly. Give Elite Battle elephants 16 attack again (15 if you like, and +4 for khmer crown). Also, give malay some of their bonuses back (maybe harbors attacking 7 again?) . And, of course... Some eco bonus for Vietnamese and Khmer. especially Vietnamese.

    I know not every civ has to be a Top Shelf civ, But I'm tired of people always using the same 4 or 5 civs ALL the time (Franks, Mayans, Cumans, Mongols, Huns). Make random civ great again!
