Today we are continuing our quest to improve the Age Insider Program by launching some serious updates to the Insider landing page! Jump on in to see how we have made this Insider experience easier to navigate with simplified information and a much tighter user flow at its core. The landing page has more features, is easier to digest, and makes it far simpler to access the resources you need to make the most of being an Age Insider.
As before, when you first land on the page, you will see your linked Steam profiles and Microsoft gamertags, though with a much cleaner look. Beneath this you will find a whole new, user-centric design that places the most important information right at up top. Accessible, easy-to-click buttons make accessing Beta Opportunities, the Insider Forum, your Insider Settings, or the fount of information that is the Insider FAQ super easy. For those currently enrolled in a beta, you will be able to resend activation credentials directly from this page to the preferred email on your Insider profile. Don’t forget to whitelist noreply@ageofempires.com to guarantee you get these emails!
While minimum technical specifications aren’t the only prerequisites we look for, we have heard your calls about how helpful it is to be transparent with these. To that end, with the new Insider landing page, you will be able to see exactly what your DxDiag file is telling us about your hardware. Not only that, but you’ll be able to see it compared to a beta build’s min spec—when available—right from the Beta Opportunity cards on this page. This super cool upgrade from our web team makes each card clickable—allowing you to easily dig deeper for complete tech specs and more information about the beta.
If you have been following us since we rebooted the program in June 2019, you may start recognizing that your feedback is leading us to make changes that strengthen the Age Insider Program as a valuable resource for helping to guide the future of the Age of Empires franchise. Based on feedback, we are not only rolling out these changes to the Insider landing page, but we have changed the cadence of our running betas, and are continuing to build on our ever-improving email communications and forums. You may have already noticed some smaller, unannounced changes that have landed on the website. Our team is always hard at work and has big plans for the future of Age of Empires!
