Catch the Age Royale Tournament this Saturday, October 31, right here on or over on!

We are proud to officially announce the partnership between World’s Edge and Capture Age.

Capture Age is a ground-breaking spectating tool that completely changed how you can watch, enjoy and analyse Age of Empires: II. Today we can confirm that Capture Age will be coming to Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition.

Over the last three years, the Capture Age team has been developing a new way to watch Age of Empires. As fans of the Age of Empires franchise, their knowledge and understanding of the game has forged a tool designed to display real-time information that engages viewers without detracting from gameplay.

The Capture Age tool has been utilized during tournaments such as Hidden Cup 2 and the Escape Champions League to deliver a new and unique spectating experience that changed the way we watch and understand Age of Empires.

Sadly, the tool was incompatible with Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition upon release. Now with the partnership between World’s Edge and the Capture Age team, the tool is being redesigned from the ground up to complement and expand the viewer experience.

Recently, the Capture Age team were responsible for the amazing overlay used during the Red Bull Wololo and Hidden Cup 3. The overlay tracked multiple players’ resources, population and completed research in real-time, without having to swap between views or access menu systems.

As development progresses, Capture Age will be a stand alone tool providing a huge list of extra features to get excited for!

In-Depth Real-Time Statistics

Enhanced Minimap with High Contrast Colors

World Overlay with Monk Conversion Time Indicators

Per Unit Statistics and Individual Unit Kills

Tournament Integration with Direct Scoreboard Integration

Event Panel with Tribute Amounts, Market Usages, Notable Events

Capture Age will bring a whole new viewing experience to Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and we are proud to be a part of it.

Have you guys thought of acquiring them? :):) Clearly they're doing such a good job for the community and the game.

"release date: when it is ready!" is probably a good hint :)

Thank you!! This is great!! May I leave a suggestion though? Please add the name map to this new tool. It is really useful to know which map is played as a spectator. Would be good if added also to the normal ingame gameplay even though you as a player know the map you're playing of course as you have to choose map before starting every game. But if you are streaming or wanna upload the game later the people never have access to that info cause the videotapes many times start with no charging screen of the game. It would be the same as not having the civs view during the match, no sense. So please add the map info to the standard ingame info available without having to display another menu or wait till the streaming answer that question or whatever. PLEASE

check the minimap panel in the first image, it is allready there in the bottom left corner in the old classic version and as you can see the image of HC3 overlay after that in bottom right corner of minimap panel :)

Wait this will be available as a dlc atleast right? Please don't have a subscription model or a restrict availability to streamers only or something. I will pay 60$, but I will pay that once.

I'm playing it on my Intel Mac with Windows 10 installed into VMWare Fusion and it's very impressive. But it still plays a bit better on my dedicated Windows machine.

    If impossible, we will pay
